Pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

I would like to obtain any and all details related to accidents involving Tesla vehicles, both with and without the autopilot feature, that have been reported to or investigated by your department in the month of January 2023..

Specifically, I am requesting the following information:

1.) Date and time of the accident
2.) Location of the accident
3.) Names of drivers and passengers involved
4.) Vehicle make and model
5.) Whether the vehicle was equipped with the autopilot feature
6.) Details of the accident, including any citations or charges issued and the outcome of any investigations
7.) Any other relevant information related to the accident

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

A search was conducted for calls for service for accidents involving tesla. Please see the attached screenshots. They will fulfill your request for information for numbers 1 and 2.

Pursuant to Virginia Code Section 2.2-3706(D), all identifying information of a personal, medical, or financial nature has been redacted from the screenshots.

Please be advised that the Fairfax County Police Department is no longer the custodian of records for accident reports, and you will need to contact the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles to obtain the crash details. Information detailing this process for obtaining a crash report can be accessed at the following link: https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/general/records/accident.asp.
