Public Records Request: Gunshot Detection Data

According to East Orange's grant application for $105,500 from the New Jersey Office of Attorney General, Department of Law and Public Safety for gunshot detection technology, the East Orange Police Department stated the following regarding performance measures for the technology:

"Data Collection/Performance Measures/Evaluation: Data collection for this project will consist of tracking GDT hits regarding criminal investigations in excel format spreadsheets. The Department will then compare those hits against previous years as they pertain to the increase in gun violence and violent crime. After contrasting these datasets, the Department will determine the efficacy of the acquired GDT system in assisting with investigations into violent crime and the apprehension of suspects."

Pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

A copy of all spreadsheets used to detail "GDT hits regarding criminal investigations" since the use of gunshot detection technology went live in East Orange.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
