To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to Open Public Records Act ("OPRA"), I hereby request the following records:
All records pertaining to the Cresskill Police Department’s practice of providing particular residences heightened amounts of security due to the high-profile nature of the resident’s inhabitants.
Records requested include a list of addresses for residences that receive heightened security measures provided by the Cresskill Police Department.
Records requested include a list of Cresskill residents or families designated as possessing a “sensitive status” or “high profile” by the Cresskill Police Department.
Records requested include a list of residences that receive 24-hour security provided by the Cresskill Police Department.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 7 business days, as the statute requires.

I am in possession of official police records from the Bergen County Police Department indicating that at least one residence, located on Truman Drive, is considered a high-profile residence and receives 24-hour security from the Cresskill Police Department.
It seems very unlikely that the Cresskill Police Department would not have any records describing the protocol for classifying residences as high-profile (or “sensitive”) and assigning such residences a continuous police detail.
Are you saying that there are no records—which, again, seems very unlikely—or are you refusing to release records that are responsive to my request?
I would greatly appreciate clarification of this matter as soon as possible.

Mr. Trotter,
Please be advised that you have received all "maintained records" you have asked for. The Cresskill Police do not maintain records on the addresses or names of "sensitive status" or "high profile" individuals, but if we did I would certainly not provide you with that information under OPRA exemptions. Additional records, were we to maintain them, that would in any way compromise this agencies surveillance, security, investigative techniques or procedures would also not be provided to you under OPRA exemptions. In as far as the "official police records from the Bergen County Police Department" indicating that at least 1 residence located on Truman Dr. is considered a high profile residence and receives 24 hour security from the Cresskill Police, they would be inaccurate as you interpret it, however all 8,000 plus residents of Cresskill enjoy that privilege. Hopefully this will serve as clarification regarding your latest of many OPRA requests regarding specific residents or residences in my jurisdiction as I do not intend to provide an interview or further discuss any aspect of my agencies procedures.

Would you be able to clarify whether the residence in question, on Truman Drive, receives additional, heightened security measures from the Cresskill Police Department, at least above and beyond those provided to other Cresskill residences?
