From: Mackenzie Farkus

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

Records that contain information on how many specialty "Choose Life" license plates were sold from 1997 onwards.

I also request that, if possible and pursuant to Conn. Gen. Stat. ยง 1-212(d), fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest and not made for commercial gain. The requested documents will be processed by a representative of the news media/press and made available to the public at MuckRock.com.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 4 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Mackenzie Farkus

Good Afternoon, Ms. Farkus:

This notice is to acknowledge receipt of your request under the Freedom of Information Act.

Please be advised that the Department of Motor Vehicles ("DMV") has determined that your request is beyond its record retention period.

In your FOI request, you indicated that you are looking for the number of "Choose Life" license plates, but please be aware that the license is actually known as "Children First Foundation Plate". I have attached a printout from the DMV's website for your reference.

With that being said, as of March 1, 2019, there are 205 Children First Foundation Plates that are active.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you,
Janice
