Pursuant to the Ohio Open Records Law, I hereby request the following records:
the total number of use of force incidents for 2016.
When available, I would appreciate being sent individualized data for each item in this request in spreadsheet format. If individualized data are unavailable, please send information that includes aggregate statistics for the item instead.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days.

Hi, thanks for sending this. However, this spreadsheet does not appear to include Exclusive Level 1 uses of force (where no force higher than Level 1 was used). Can you please tell me the total number of use of force incidents, including Level 1 uses of force?

Hello:
There are no additional records responsive to your request. Per the Division’s technology personnel, the Defensive Tactics Unit, and the Internal Affairs Bureau, there is no individualized data or aggregate statistics for Level 1 exclusive use of force in 2016. The Defensive Tactics Unit has advised that they did not track Level 1 use of force in 2016. Given that there are no additional records responsive to your request, it is now closed.
