Hello, I am writing to request a substantive status update providing a reason for the delays in the production of records. The court has recognized that unreasonable delays in producing records may hinder the public's right to access information, and it is essential to adhere to the principles of the California Public Records Act (CPRA) and related laws.

CPRA stipulates that when a request for records is made, agencies must respond promptly and provide access to records within a reasonable timeframe. Delays in producing records can be seen as a violation of the principles of transparency and accountability that underpin the CPRA.

As the agency has a legal obligation to produce records without unnecessary delay, I am looking for either a detailed status update for this request indicating when I can expect records, or the production of the responsive records themselves.

I'd like to solve this without a formal complaint or appeal. Could you please copy dhruv_mehrotra@wired.com to all further correspondence. Conde Nast's legal team is cc'd.

Hello, thank you so much for this response. My initial request had sought,

1. The current database schema, data dictionary, or other reference document(s) regarding all databases used by CVPD to track drone flights.

2. Data (or other records) that show complaints made to the department that include the word "drone" or drones", these complaints should include those made through the online submission form: Service Complaint Forms (https://www.chulavistaca.gov/departments/police-department/service-complaint-form).
