Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) (5 ILCS 140), I hereby request the following records:
All records within the your agency's possession, irrespective of timeframe, and with respect to following criteria:
1. All records related to Jarad Anthony Higgins, better known as Juice WRLD, related to his death on December 8th, 2019. It is noted that one or more officers from the Chicago PD, were present or informed by dispatched about Jarad, on or about the time of his death.
2. All records related to Jarad A. Higgins being under investigation leading up to his death such as surveillance records, reports, memos, emails, and so on as well as all records after his death.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as we believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not. I request that any records maintained in an electronic format be provided in that same format (such as a PDF, CSV, or XLS file), to avoid copying costs.
If you deny any part of this request, please cite each specific exemption you think justifies your refusal to release the information and notify me of appeal procedures available under the law.
