Chattanooga active shooter response

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to Tennessee's Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

Please provide me with all records of the police response to the shooting committed by Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez on 7/16/2015 at a Chattanooga military recruiting facility and reserve training facility. The records I am request include, but are not limited to, incident reports and discharged round reports.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 7 business days, as the statute requires.

Regarding your request, CPD stated it is an open case or pending court date. Therefore you will not be receiving the records based on the following legal citation:
The Rules of Criminal Procedure 16(a)(2). “… this rule does not authorize the discovery or inspection of reports, memoranda, or other internal state documents made by the district attorney general or other state agents or law enforcement officers in connection with investigating or prosecuting the case. Nor does this rule authorize discovery of statements made by state witnesses or prospective state witnesses.”
