To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

Any and all available dog licensing and registration data for animals within your jurisdiction.

Please include all available segregable data, including but not limited to:

• the type of animal
• the breed of the pet
• the pet's date of birth
• the pet's name
• the owner's address or applicable zip code
• any other available notes

Also, I am requesting that the data be sent in Excel format.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 15 business days, as the statute requires.

Good Afternoon Cynthia,

This is in response to your original Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”) request dated July 30, 2017 and your follow up correspondence dated August 4, 2017 & February 26, 2020. In all three of those requests, you were requesting information regarding the City of Charleston’s licensing and registration data for pets. The City of Charleston does not possess the information that are being requested and therefore, the City has no responsive documents to produce.

This completes the City of Charleston’s response to your FOIA request and we now consider the matter to be closed.
