Pursuant to the Arizona Public Records, I hereby request the following records:

1. The total number of uses of force reported in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 (separated by year).
2. The total number of use of force complaints submitted in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 (separated by year).
3. The total number of use of force complaints sustained in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 (separated by year).

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thanks for sending this. This appears to only be data on use of force incidents and their disposition after internal investigation. Can you also send me the requested data on how many use of force *civilian complaints* were submitted by year and how many of those were sustained?

I apologize for the incomplete information given to you in regards to the
request for use of force complaints in our department. I misunderstood the
initial request but have compiled the rest of the data requested.

Below is the information requested on use of force civilian complaints
made from 2010-2017:

2010: 4 complaints made, 0 sustained
2011: 3 complaints made, 1 sustained
2012: 5 complaints made, 0 sustained
2013: 1 complaint made, 0 sustained
2014: 8 complaints made, 2 sustained
2015: 1 complaint made, 0 sustained
2016: 2 complaints made, 1 sustained
2017: 0 complaints made, 0 sustained
