Pursuant to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, M.G.L. c.66, §10, I hereby request the following records:

a) Minutes for the most recent Public Meeting of Public Library Department Board including any and all
b) notes,
c) documents,
d) other exhibits used by the board at an open or executive session,
e) such as photographs,
f) recordings,
g) maps,
h) materials used in the preparation of Minutes,
i) list of documents and other exhibits used at the most recent Public Meeting,
j) the decisions made,
k) the actions taken,
l) the record of all votes,
m) handwritten draftings.

According to Attorney General of Massachusetts and Commonwealth of Massachusetts Open Meeting Law, M.G.L. c. 30A, ss 18-25 particularly Section 22 Meeting Minutes; Records

I request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as we believe this request is in the public interest, as suggested but not stipulated by the recommendations of the Massachusetts Supervisor of Public Records. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

I expect the request to be filled in an accessible format, including for screen readers, which provide text-to-speech for persons unable to read print. Files that are not accessible to screen readers include, for example, .pdf image files as well as physical documents.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

Cambridge Public Library materials, archives, etc. are available for public library users in the reading room. Minutes from the most recent Public Meeting of our Public Library Board of our Cambridge Public Library could be made available for reading likewise for public library users and likewise for public library staff in the reading room of our Cambridge Public Library.

No longer are we satisfied with meeting public records requirements, including Freedom of Information obligations, in a reactive way, responding to citizen-generated requests slowly on paper.

Instead, open data laws call for proactive information sharing, inviting transparency, scrutiny, and accountability.

Our public library mission and mandate is for reading library materials and archives without additional fee in our Cambridge Public Library Reading Room. The basic principle of our public library is changed by a response from Keplin K. U. Allwaters !

Cambridge Public Librarians are asked to put into practice Intellectual Freedom and Freedom to Read principles of the library professions.
