Pursuant to the California Public Records Act (California Government Code ยงยง 6250), I hereby request the following records:
Any emails to the DMV from an address ending in @uber.com or @lyft.com, that use the keywords: "driverless," "self-driving," "autonomous," or "Pittsburgh."
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

Dear Mr. Stolzoff:
The California Department of Motor Vehicles acknowledges receipt of your facsimile dated and received on October 23, 2017, requesting the following information pursuant to the California Public Records Act (Government Code section 6250 et seq.).
"Any emails to the DMV from an address ending in @uber.com or @lyft.com, that use the keywords: "driverless," "self-driving," or "Pittsburg.""
In order to assist you in making a focused and effective request under Government Code section 6253.1, the Department requires further clarifying information from you. Specifically, how far back in time do you want the search to include? Also, please specify if you are only interested in Uber or Lyft emails that involve autonomous vehicles in Pittsburg.
If the Department does not receive additional clarifying information from you within thirty (30) days, we will be closing our file in this matter.
