Pursuant to the California's Sunshine Amendment (Cal. Const. Art. I, § 3(b)), I hereby request the following records:

• All files related to the lawsuit and settlement with John Thompson, who was assaulted by an Avenal State Prison canine [http://hanfordsentinel.com/news/opinion/columnists/avenal-state-prison-earned-two-black-eyes/article_c252c331-ee6e-5a77-8320-a94b3f23b2bf.html]

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Dear Ms. Lipton,

I have been informed by the Office of Legal Affairs that you are requesting information on the above-referenced public record request which you submitted on January 8, 2015. Please be advised that this request was closed after the 90 days ran for lack of payment of costs. A cost letter had been sent to you on January 29, 2015 and we waited the 90 days we were required to wait for receipt of payment and then closed this request.
