To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

I am writing to request access to public records under Calif. Public Records Act: Gov’t Code §6250-6268. Specifically, I am seeking information regarding individuals currently sentenced with a two strikes and three-strikes sentencing enhancement as outlined in Penal Code §§ 667(b)-(i) and 1170.12. Specifically, I am requesting details on individuals currently incarcerated for two-strike and three-strike laws, including their:
- Names
- Date of conviction
- Inmate ID
- Parole eligibility date
- Specific offenses they were convicted of
- Any available demographic information, such as date of birth, age at arrest, current age, race, gender, county of conviction
If there are any fees associated with obtaining or copying these records that exceed $100, I request a waiver of all fees. I am making this request on behalf of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and the release of this information is in the public interest, significantly contributing to a better understanding of these laws. My request for this information is not for commercial purposes.
I kindly ask for a timely response to this request. If the retrieval of these records will take an extended period, please provide an estimated timeline for when I can expect access to or copies of the requested records.
Should you deny any part of this request, I ask that you specify the exemptions that justify withholding the information and provide details about the available appeal procedures as per the law.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Noelle
