To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Indiana Access to Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
I would like to request information related to the current bulk fuel contracts for Bloomington Transit (Gasoline, Diesel Fuel). Documents would include; Original RFP, amendments, Bid Tabulation, and Award.
If the fuel is not procured through a formal bid process – reference to agency policy on fuel purchasing is requested.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 7 business days, as the statute requires.

In response to your public records request, I am providing the following
information:
Bloomington Public Transportation Corporation (BPTC) has not held any bulk
fuel contracts over the past three (3) years. Diesel fuel is purchased by
BPTC from Indiana University who purchases the fuel for IU Campus Bus and
BPTC. BPTC and Indiana University Campus Bus share a joint operating
facility including underground fuel tanks that are owned by Indiana
University. As such, Indiana University purchases the fuel that BPTC uses
and charges BPTC based on actual usage of the fuel.
With regard to unleaded gasoline, BPTC owns a 3,000 gallon unleaded
gasoline tank and does not have any bulk fuel purchase contacts over the
past 3 years. BPTC simply quotes out purchases of unleaded fuel as needed
in quantities of 2,000 to 3,000 gallons approximately once per month. The
vendor with the low price quote supplies the unleaded fuel each month.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information.
