Complaints/grievances against CCA's Red Rock Correctional Facility

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the state open records law, Ariz. Rev. Stat. Ann. Secs. 39-121 to 39-122 and 39-128, I hereby request the following records:

All complaints and formal/informal grievances referencing the following terms (in whole or part) or originating from the following locations:

• Red Rock Correctional Facility

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Hello Mr. Lamoreaux,

I am interested in complaints from when the facility opened in 2006 until today. Is this an unreasonable range? I'm also interested in any documented informal complaints submitted to the Department as well as the Contract Beds Bureau Monitor, including but not limited to those submitted using Forms:

802-11 (Inmate Informal Complaint Resolution)
802-12 (Inmate Informal Complaint Response)
802-1 (Inmate Grievance)
802-7 (Inmate Grievance-GF Supplements)
125 (Sexual Offense Reporting)

Did this help to specify a bit? I'm interested in any complaints (medical or otherwise) made by inmates held at Red Rock. I'd be more than happy to try to clarify a bit more or narrow my time frame if you think that your search would be unreasonably troublesome as my request stands.

I'd like to revisit this request, the fee for which caused me to pause. I very much appreciate your help on these requests.

Would the $500 apply to only requests for Red Rock grievances for the year 2014 alone? I'd like to find a way to reasonably narrow this. I'd also be interested in discussing the possibility of inspecting materials at your office, since I have a series of requests currently pending and more requests to come.
