Pursuant to the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
An up to date copy of the acceleration protocol referenced in School Board Policy 5170 https://go.boarddocs.com/mi/aaps/Board.nsf/Public?open&id=policies
The relevant section is quoted below:
The Superintendent shall, in cooperation with the Board, provide a protocol for administration, faculty and families when grade acceleration is under consideration This protocol will provide a timeline for decision-making and clearly outline all steps and evidence/documentation required to thoughtfully proceed with such a consideration.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

has been denied and provided within the required timeframe of five

This note, along with the attached documents, certifies that a reasonable

My request was not for an updated policy. The policy says that the superintendent must create a separate protocol, it is the protocol I am requesting.
