Unified Insights records

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act., I hereby request the following records:

1) All active contracts, statements of work, and sole source agreements between the district and Powerschool. This should include individual contracts and statements of work, where available, for each Powerschool product the district uses (e.g. Powerschool SIS, Unified Insights, Classroom Intelligence, etc.)

2) For each Powerschool Unified Insights predictive model the district uses, copies of the following validation reports (instructions to access the reports are in parentheses):

a) The Predictive Factors report for each model the district uses (https://uc.powerschool-docs.com/unified-insights/latest/predictive-factors)
b) The Imputed Details report for each model the district uses (https://uc.powerschool-docs.com/unified-insights/latest/academic-factors)

d) The Group Comparison report for each model the district uses (https://uc.powerschool-docs.com/unified-insights/latest/group-comparison)

Please note that the reports I have requested do not contain individually identifiable student data, but rather aggregate data about student groups (e.g. 5th graders, male/female students, etc.).

I ask that all fees be waived as I am a journalist and intend to use the requested records to publish articles in the public interest about the operations of a government agency. If you choose to impose fees, I ask that you provide an explanation of the fees, including the hourly wage of the lowest-paid employee capable of fulfilling the request.

If you choose to reject this request or redact portions of responsive documents, I ask that you cite the statutory exemptions and associated case law underlying your decision to withhold each portion from public review.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you so much for your help with this request and the quick response.

The documents you provided appear fully responsive to item 1 of my request, but I don't see any records responsive to item 2.

Unless I'm misunderstanding, the contracts provided show that the district uses PowerSchool's at-risk student models. I believe the district should therefore be able to find the records responsive to item 2 of my request by following the instructions in the links I provided next to each report in Item 2.

If you could confirm receipt of this message and that you are continuing to process the request, I'd greatly appreciate it. And if you have any questions or if I can provide any more information, please don't hesitate to ask!
