Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:
1. Please provide a copy of the current contract between MVP Arena, owned by Albany County, and Ticketmaster Entertainment Inc.
2. Please provide copies of any past contracts between MVP Arena, owned by Albany County, and Ticketmaster Inc. since 2013.
Electronic records should be produced in their unlocked native format with all original metadata and original filenames. Paper documents should be scanned and produced as Adobe PDF files.
The above request is a matter of public interest. The requested documents will be used in the course of reporting for VICE News. As such, we request a fee waiver. The disclosure of the information sought is not for commercial purposes; instead, it will contribute to the public’s understanding of government operations.
If this request is denied in whole or in part, I ask that you justify all deletions by reference to specific exemptions of the New York Freedom of Information Law. Please inform us of the reason(s) for such denial in writing, and provide the name, mailing address, and email address of the person or body to whom an appeal should be directed. I expect the release of all segregable portions of otherwise exempt material. Please do not redact any non-responsive information from any records; we request the complete copies of any records with any responsive information.
In the interest of time, I request that you provide documents as they become available rather than waiting for the complete set.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Documents have been released for record request #23-71 along with the following message:
Please be advised, your FOIL request has been approved and copies have been electronically provided. See attached.
Attached is a copy of a Ticketmaster agreement between SMG, Albany County and Ticketmaster that expired in September of 2015. Certain areas of the agreement have been redacted due to proprietary concerns. The same agreement was extended and renewed for five additional years, which ended in September of 2020. Instead of having the ticketing agreement go back out to bid thereafter, it was decided by SMG and with Albany County’s approval, that a new contract that would be negotiated by SMG using the leverage and volume of buildings that SMG managed at the time, would be in the best interest of Albany County. A new agreement was finalized with a larger share of TM service charge revenues coming back to the arena. Almost all of the over 300 arenas, stadiums and theaters were included in negotiations with TM. Individual agreements have been produced over the last several months for each market/building with TM using the new deal points. The Albany/MVP Arena contract is currently being produced by TM and we expect to receive it in the coming weeks. We are happy to supply a copy of it once it arrives.
