Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
All video and audio recordings in the Department’s possession involving a discharge of a firearm and any use of force by an officer or custodial officer against a person resulting in death or great bodily injury. Apologies if you already have this information posted to your website to comply with AB 748, but I do not seem to be able to find it posted.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.
*The requested documents will be made available to the general public via Muckrock, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes. I am a published citizen-journalist with articles in the Long Beach Beachcomber and on FORTHE.org. We do have a responsive record that will require redaction. We ask for your patience as this will take our staff time to redact this video. As always, should we require a fee for producing a record, we will inform you.
