Pursuant to the Nevada Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
Adverse event reports from all COVID-19 vaccines administered by the UNR health center or within Washoe County.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Washoe County Health District does not create COVID vaccine adverse event reports for UNR health center or other providers in Washoe County. All Washoe County providers are required to submit a VAERS report to the CDC when there is a vaccine adverse event with one of their patients. Members of the public can also submit VAERS reports on their own behalf. VAERs data can be accessed here - https://vaers.hhs.gov/data.html.

Thank you for your communication. Do you have a draft of this information from before it was turned over to VAERS? I cannot find information isolated to a location smaller than Nevada.

Yes, I am in the process of having staff go through our draft VAERS reports. They will compile the information in a similar format you see listed in VAERS. This requires them to go through each hand written report and input it into an Excel file. I will upload the file by April 6, 2022. This file will only include the VAERS reports that were submitted to Washoe County Health District. We do not have access to any reports that were submitted by other providers, such as UNR Health Center.

We have excluded and/or redacted text that contains personal medical information that implicates a privacy interest of an individual pursuant to the standard adopted by the Nevada Supreme Court in Cameranesi v. United States Department of Defense, 856 F.3d 626, 637 (9th Cir. 2017), which recognized that personnel and medical files may be shielded from public disclosure to prevent an unwanted invasion of personal privacy. See also, Clark County Office of Coroner/Medical Examiner v. Las Vegas Review Journal, 136 Nev.44, 458 P.3d 1048 (2020).
