From: Brian Waters

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the DC Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request any lists or databases regarding the credibilty of police officers. Such lists are common in many jurisdictions, and go by names such as "Giglio lists," "Brady lists," "bad cop lists," "police credibility lists," or "do not call lists." Please provide the list in its entirety, which should include, at a minimum, the name of each officer on the list, and information about why the officer is on the list.

Furthermore, I am requesting any other records that refer to or discuss said lists, such as policies regarding when or how officers are added to the lists, when and how officers are removed, and how the lists are used.

For reference, I have linked two news articles which describe such lists in New York and Philadelphia:
http://gothamist.com/2019/04/22/district_attorney_cop_lists.php
https://www.philly.com/philly/news/larry-krasner-philadelphia-police-tainted-misconduct-secret-list-20180306.html

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.

I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 15 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Brian Waters
