Pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

All contracts, licenses, MOUs, MOAs, data agreements, letters of intent, and other agreement documents the Virginia State Police holds for the use of CopLink software. The vendor is either Forensic Logic or ShotSpotter.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Record request #23-1570 has been closed. The closure reason supplied was:

Mr. Nash,

A search was completed in eVA for purchases including CopLink and no results were generated over the last 2 years. A search was completed for Forensic Logic and no Purchase orders were located over the last 2 years. Forensic Logic is not showing as and active supplier with the Commonwealth of Virginia suppliers. A search was completed for ShotSpotter and no Purchase orders were located over the last 2 years. ShotShotter is showing as and active supplier with the Commonwealth of Virginia.Pursuant to Virginia Code § 2.2-3704(B)(3) (or pursuant to the subpoena), the requested records could not be found or do not exist in the Department's investigative files. The Department only houses police incident reports for cases it has investigated, not those conducted by other agencies. Any incident report will need to be obtained from the agency that handled the incident, accident, or arrest.

 We regret we are unable to assist you further in this matter but hope the information provided is helpful.
