Hello, thanks for the update. I'm confused: my request is for a spreadsheet export of a dataset that has already been compiled. What, specifically, is required in terms of staff time for review to process this request?

For any charges I'll need an itemized breakdown of costs. I'm hopeful that we can resolve this matter without seeking a judicial remedy through the courts. I've requested this same information from every other state's department of education, and none have needed more than 30 minutes of staff time to process it.

From: Virginia Department of Education

Good afternoon,

The VDOE is not in possession of the dataset you are requesting. It will take staff 25 hours to gather, review and compile all responsive records for your request. Also, please be advised this request has been withdrawn due to the deposit due date expiring on 3/11/2023 as noted on the cost estimate that was sent on 2/9/2023. If you would like to submit a new FOIA request for the records you can do so at this time. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,
