Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

T. Don Hutto Residential Center, Texas
South Texas Family Residential Center, Texas
San Luis Regional Detention Center, Arizona
Otay Mesa Detention Center, California
Desert View Annex, California
Specifically, I am seeking:

Name of the officer(s) who had interactions with children
Dates of interactions with children
Detention centers where interactions occurred
Nature of the interaction (e.g., arrest, questioning, search)
Any complaints registered against the officers related to these interactions.

I request that the information be provided in electronic format, preferably in Microsoft Excel or CSV format. If it is not possible to provide the information in this format, kindly provide it in a readable format.

Please be advised that I will file a complaint and seek judicial intervention to compel the release of records if the requested information is unlawfully withheld or redacted. I would like to bring to your attention the case law National Immigration Law Center v. U.S. Department of Homeland Security, No. 1:18-cv-01342 (D.D.C. 2019). In this case, the court held that the government cannot withhold information that is of great public interest under exemptions of the FOIA. As the requested information is of great public interest and importance, I kindly ask you not to withhold, redact, or delete any responsive records.

As a concerned citizen, I am committed to using this information for research and advocacy purposes, and I assert that there is a significant public interest in this matter.

If you have any questions or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact me

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Jordan Lassiter
