Good morning Mr. Musgrave,

Our office is in receipt of your FOIA request transmitted via email dated July 11, 2018, regarding Operation Longarm training materials.

After careful review of the records, I have determined that the records originated with U.S. customs Service. U.S. Customs Service has not been a bureau within Department of the Treasury since 2003; therefore we have no equity in the records provided to our office for review.

We recommend that you send the records to U.S. Customs Service for appropriate action.

Hi Kathy -

Thank you for your response. Were documents created by the Customs Service at the time it was part of the Treasury transferred to DHS?

I appreciate your help.

Best,
Shawn

Hi Kathy -

Sorry, I framed my question sloppily.

I submitted this request to Treasury's attention because, at the time of Operation Longarm in 1992/1993, Customs Service was still a part of Treasury. It sounds like you're indicating that all Customs Service documents were transferred to DHS in 2003, including records that predated the transfer. Is that the case?

Thanks so much,
Shawn
