From: Brianna Cluck

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

All written internal memos, emails, policy documents and other written or digital material related to the app "Pokemon GO", and all communications with Niantic and Nintendo of America regarding Pokemon GO "gyms," "pokestops" and Pokemon appearing on the app in military zones and on military bases, during the years 2016 and 2017.

This information serves the public knowledge, as 2016 has been called "Pokemon GO Summer," and several users of the app have noted a lack of Pokemon appearing on or around military bases.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Brianna Cluck

From: U.S. Navy

Dear Ms. Brianna Cluck,

The Department of the Navy received your Freedom of Information (FOIA)
request January 24, 2024 and placed it in queue for processing by order of
receipt. It has been assigned case number 2024-NavyFOIA-001016

Due to the Navy’s internal transition to a new FOIA tracking system and
an increase in the volume of requests, you may experience an increase in
wait times.

Additionally, if unusual circumstances arise when processing your
request, a response within the statutory 20-day period may not be attainable
due to:

1. Collection and search for records from a facility outside of this
office.

2. Volume of records that may be responsive to your request.

3. Consultation with one or more agencies having a substantial interest in
the determination or the subject matter.

If one or more of these scenarios listed above apply to your request,
per the Department of the Navy FOIA/PA regulation 32 CFR §701.8(g)(2), this
office grants itself an extension of ten days response time.

We understand the importance of timely responses to FOIA requests and
apologize for any inconvenience this delay may cause. Thank you for your
patience.
