Per the below response from Mr. Kirkland (cc'd), I am forwarding this FOIA request to your attention. Please confirm receipt.

Mr. Kirkland,

Thank you for your email. I believe your email refers to our Semi-Annual (not annual) Report that we issue to Congress and the Department of Defense after the first and second halves of each fiscal year. The periods run from October 1 - March 31 and April 1 - September 30. The SAR for the first half of the year is on this page (along with previous years): http://www.dodig.mil/pubs/sar.cfm The SAR for the second half of the year is anticipated to be published online this month (the period ends September 30th, but it takes some time to compile all the data, especially as we receive input from across the DoD). In order to be alerted to its publication date on the day it is issued, I recommend that you subscribe to our reports listserv so that you will receive an email once it is posted online (see link below in my signature block).

Please let me know if you have any questions and please feel free to contact me directly in the future regarding any matter involving the DoD IG, as I am the primary media POC for our organization.

Regards,

Bridget Serchak

Hello,

Thank you for getting back to me. I'm interested in the report that all Inspectors General with law enforcement authority are required to submit to the Attorney General on an annual basis, each November 1. Are you familiar with this report?

Best,
Shawn

From: Serchak, Bridget A., OIG DoD

Shawn,

No I am not, but please feel free to contact our FOIA office and they may be able to assist you. http://www.dodig.mil/FOIA/index.html
Thanks,

Bridget

From: Shawn Musgrave

Hello,

I was under the impression that I had already submitted this to the FOIA office (usarmy.pentagon.hqda-otig.mbx.saig-zxl@mail.mil), who kicked it to you. Mr. Kirkland, can you confirm whether you're able to begin processing this request?

Best,
Shawn

From: Serchak, Bridget A., OIG DoD

Shawn,

If the document in question is related to the DoD IG, we have our own FOIA office so you would need to submit your request to our office.

Thanks, Bridget

From: Shawn Musgrave

Mr. Kirkland,

Per the information here (http://www.daig.pentagon.mil/foia.aspx), the email address usarmy.pentagon.hqda-otig.mbx.saig-zxl@mail.mil is the means to submit a FOIA request to the Army Inspector General. Please confirm whether this is true. If it is, please proceed with processing my request as it was submitted several days ago. I am unsure why it was ever kicked to the Public Affairs office in the first place.

Apologies for any confusion, and please correct me if I have directed this to the incorrect office. Again, I am trying to submit a FOIA request to the Army Inspector General, per the instructions available at the above website.

Best,
Shawn

From: Serchak, Bridget A., OIG DoD

Shawn,

I think I have figured out the issue. The Army IG is not a statutory IG, per the directive you are referencing, therefore they are not subject to the reporting requirements under the IG Act.

Hope that is helpful to you.

You may wish to contact CIGIE, the Council for IGs, as they are the organization that represents the statutory IGs. ignet@cigie.gov

Thanks, Bridget
