Bailey Pillon,

We received your FOIA request dated July 5. Your case has been given the identifier 2023-024.

We would like to discuss the scope of your request as it is likely to require the search, collection, and examination of voluminous records. Please be advised that the PCLOB only has jurisdiction to review current and proposed U.S. government programs to protect the nation from terrorism. to ensure that such programs are adequately balanced with privacy and civil liberties concerns.

If there is something specific you are searching for, please let us know. You have requested all records within the eight-year period of 2015-2023 on four broad and distinct topics:

1. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. The only two offices likely to possess such records are the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) and the Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer, most likely pertaining to the processing of requests for accommodation. Can you provide any additional information to assist in narrowing the scope of this request?

1. Fourth Amendment and the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988. The Drug-Free Workplace Act applies to internal agency operations. The only two offices likely to possess such records are the Office of the General Counsel and the Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer, as no oversight or advice project has involved the Drug-Free Workplace Act.

1. The U.S. Constitution. The Constitution provides a basis for substantial amounts of work for both PCLOB oversight of government programs, as well as internal agency operations. If you are looking for published oversight decisions, they can be found at https://www.pclob.gov/Oversight. If you are seeking other information, can you provide any information or details to assist in narrowing the scope of this request?

1. Civil Rights (as a term itself) or the Civil Rights Act of 1964. It is possible that the term would appear in both PCLOB's oversight and advice role, as well as internal operations. Is there specific information or context that you are interested in? Are you interested in PCLOB's oversight role or our internal operations?

We are not currently able to assess potential fees in this case.

Thank you.
