CLASSIFICATION: UNCLASSIFIED

Dear Mr. Salt,

I acknowledge your request for “All documents analyzing the structure and
capabilities of the Tatmadaw/armed forces of Myanmar from 1980 onwards.”

However, I am not aware of the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command
having any records that would analyze the structure and capabilities of the
Tatmadaw (formerly Burma)/armed forces.

I don’t know where to direct your request for a search to be conducted.

Please perfect your request by:

1) Providing clarification about the records you requested, in order for
this office to begin processing your request. Per 32 CFR Part 286, paragraph
§ 286.4h Policy. Describe the requested record, provide a description of the
desired record that enables the Government to locate the record with a
reasonable amount of effort. Provide category I information such as type of
record (for example, memorandum), title, index citation, subject area, date
the record was created, and originator. Provide category II is event-related
and includes the circumstances that resulted in the record being created or
the date and circumstances surrounding the event the record covers. A record
is not reasonably described unless the description contains sufficient
Category I information to permit the conduct of an organized, non-random
search based on the DoD Component’s filing arrangements.

2) Provide why you think TRADOC would have these records,

3) Providing a complete mailing address, and

4) Citing a willingness to pay fees up to a certain amount, such as “I am
willing to pay fees up to $25.00.”

No action will be taken on this request until it is perfected and
clarification is obtained.

Please let me know if you have questions.

Because this request, unlike several of my others, is clearly too vague, I would like to apologize and formally withdraw it so as not to make the backlog even worse.

Sincerely,
Colin Salt.
