Good morning Ms. Miller,

We have received the request you submitted under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) for:

1. All data, statistics, and scientific models related to the Omicron variant (sometimes referred to as B.1.1.529, GR/484A, or 21K) of the COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) virus in your agency's possession between 10/1/2021 and the date this request is ultimately processed. Please make sure to include attachments to any emails that might be included in the responsive documents for this request.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is the Federal agency responsible for tracking data and statistics and they have extensive information available related to the Omicron variant and data tracking posted on their website<https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html>. If the information you are seeking is not there or on the NIH COVID website<https://covid19.nih.gov/>, please identify whose records you would like us to search and what keywords you would like us to use. Please be advised that there is an extensive backlog at this time and the FOIA requires us to process requests in the order they were received. Thus, defining your search parameters as narrowly as possible will assist us in getting materials to you as timely as possible.

Lastly, kindly provide links to material supporting your request to be classified as a "freelance journalist" and therefore not subject to fees.
