The Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) for Charles W Steffy Jr. including Form DD-214, all Fitness Report and Counseling forms NAVPERS Form 1610/2, NAVPERS forms 1610/1, administrative remarks, Cumulative Record of Training (NAVPERS Form 5300/16), history of assignments NAVPERS 1070/605, all award citations, all military education/training courses.
Mr Charles W Steffy Jr. served in the United States Navy as enlisted servicemember, approximate service dates 1969 to 1993. Retired as Master Chief Petty Officer. Navy occupational rating boatswain's mate (abbreviated as BM). Date of birth approximately 1952 to 1945. date deceased - January 21, 2001.
Claimed numerous awards including joint service achievement medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, meritorious service medal, navy achievement medal, combat action ribbon, Navy good conduct medal, parachutist badge, Navy Expert Rifleman Medal and other decorations. Please redact any sensitive information protected by Privacy Act of 1974.
National Personnel Records Center NPRC initial search unable to locate the OMPF file, advised to contact Navy Personnel Command for information such as military service number, partial SSN or NPRC registry number. Please assist locating the records.
NPRC has confirmed records of servicemembers discharged before 1999 reside with NPRC in St Louis.

Completed Underwater Demolition Team Replacement Training (UDTR) Class 50, December 1970 at Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek, VA. Qualified Navy Enlisted Classification NEC 5321 Underwater Demolition Team Swimmer, NEC 5326 Combatant Swimmer (SEAL). Served with Underwater Demolition Team TWENTY ONE, SEAL Team FOUR, Navy Parachute Team East "Chuting Stars", SEAL Team SIX, Special Boat Unit 24. Retired BMCM - BOATSWAIN'S MATE MASTER CHIEF PETTY OFFICER.
