Mr. Bialer, I am writing regarding your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request submitted to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) that asked for "all written emails and other communications regarding changes and proposed changes to the www.transportation.gov<http://www.transportation.gov> website." First of all, let me apologize for how long it has taken us to reply to your request. My email today is part of a backlog reduction effort we've instituted at DOT, and we're making every effort to cut down on the time it is taking us to reply to FOIA requests.

That being said, I don't think we can reply to your request as it is written. Records concerning "all written emails and other communications regarding changes and proposed changes to the www.transportation.gov<http://www.transportation.gov> website" would cover communications running the breadth of DOT, including most every program office in the Department - they would be impossible to gather. Is there a specific topic that you are most interested in? If we could narrow your request to a given program office and timeframe, it would make the records gathering process much more viable.

If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to write me back here, or call at 202-366-8737.

Thank you,
Dave Jones

Dear Mr. Bialer,

I just wanted to follow up one more time on the matter raised below. If it is possible to narrow the scope of your request to something workable, we can look to start gathering responsive records. If we do not hear back from you by July 18, 2023, we will administratively close your request.

If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to write me back here, or call at 202-366-8737.

Thank you,
