Texas Department of Public Safety - April 24, 2024 Demonstrations at UT Austin

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Texas Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

1. Any communications to or from the Governor or the Office of the Governor concerning the events at the University of Texas, Austin on April 24, 2024.

2. A copy of the "request of the University" referenced in the statement issued by Sheridan Nolen, Press Secretary of the Texas Department of Public Safety, on April 24, 2024.

3. A copy of any records reflecting or concerning the "direction of Texas Governor Greg Abbott" referenced in the statement issued by Sheridan Nolen, Press Secretary of the Texas Department of Public Safety, on April 24, 2024.

4. Any communications to or from the Media and Communications Office (including any person employed by the Media and Communications Office) concerning the April 24, 2024 demonstrations at Texas universities, including UT Austin and UT San Antonio.

5. Any statements provided to media by DPS or DPS officials concerning the demonstrations on April 24, 2024, and any draft versions of those statements.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
