Details: At approximately 1055 hours today units were dispatched to a report of a explosive device being placed at the Jewish Synagogue Children's center. Units responded and evacuated the structure immediately. Two separate walk-throughs were done with The Rabbi and staff. A unusual clicking sound was found in what is known as the "Red Room" of the day care facility. Both the supervisor and the teacher of this classroom confirmed that this was not normal. Since the clicking was coming from a closed piece of furniture and could not be explained by the teacher, both Sgt. Giguere and Sgt. Headen chose to have the item inspected by the Explosive ordinance Team on duty. The item was cleared at approximately 1210 hours and was found to be a child's toy. The school was immediately reopened after clearance was obtained from EOD 8. Staff was paged as to this incident by Lt. Gant who was on-scene. Follow up will be required as to the identity of the caller. No injuries or concerns emanated from the evacuation.
