RE: Public Records Request submitted on September 03, 2023, Reference # P027249-090323

Dear Kevin Hawkins,
There is no responsive record to your request. There is no Sunshine Law log maintained in the regular course of business. Filling your request would require us to create a new record which is not required and not something that could be easily done given the volume and variety of request types received.

Thank you,

Erika Zaza

From: Kevin Hawkins

Ms. Zaza,

I'm clear that I have not requested for you to create a new record. You've explained that the documents I'm requesting are not referred to as "logs." From what you’ve explained, I believe I understand that there are no “Sunshine Request Logs” available. This is why I also asked for "listing," "registers," or "catalogs" of Sunshine Law requests that STLMPD have received. I am seeking any documentation or records of Sunshine Law requests that are received by STLMPD that organize and list the requests by request date, description of records requested, requester organization and/or current status of the requests. I have provided description that includes the word "log" in order to help you determine the documents I'm seeking.

Your responses do not seem to indicate intentions that are in line with the spirit of Missouri's policy of general openness around citizens accessing public records. It seems apparent that I do not know the exact title of the documents I'm requesting, but that is why providing a description of the documents is supposed to help determine the documents or records I'm requesting. As I understand the Sunshine Law, I am not required to know the exact title of the documents being requested.

From: Kevin Hawkins

Ms Zaza,

Please accept this as a formal withdrawal of my Sunshine Law request submitted on September 03, 2023, Reference # P027249-090323. I will need to revise the description for documents I'm requesting and submit a new request at a later date.

Thank you.

Kevin
