According to a press release from Gov. Kemp's office on June 8, 2023, the Governor's office awarded more than $83.5 million in grants for 118 qualified projects as part of the Community Public Safety Grant program. This included a grant of $253,000 to the Smyrna Police Department described in additional documents provided by the Governor: https://gov.georgia.gov/sites/gov.georgia.gov/files/2023-06/Grantee%20List%20for%20Public%20Safety%20Release1024_9_0.jpg
Pursuant to the Georgia Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
A copy of all documents, including but not limited to, applications, agreements, and reporting documents from the "Community Public Safety Grant" program for the grant of $253,000 received by the Smyrna Police Department, as described in the Governor's press release and additional documents.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

The Georgia Open Records Act O.C.G.A.§ 50-18-70 – 77 et seq allows fees to be assessed for any request requiring more than 15 minutes of staff time and the cost of materials. A note with the estimation of time and materials will be forthcoming in the next few days. Please keep in mind that it will be an estimate. When the work begins, the estimate could be higher or lower than the original estimate.
The city will not proceed with the retrieval of this information until the fees have been accepted and agreed on by the requester. If the fee amount for time and materials is over $500.00, we require payment in advance prior to beginning the process of retrieval, scanning and redacting of your request.
