Greetings,

Santa Clara County Communications is in receipt of your request for "transcripts of all 911 calls from 2015 through 2019 held by the Santa Clara County Sheriff's office". Santa Clara County Communications receives 100's of calls a day for Santa Clara County Sheriff, Light rail, County Parks, Santa Clara County Ambulance and Santa Clara County Fire. 911 calls are only retained for two years unless they are part of an ongoing investigation and those events are legally exempt from providing law enforcement investigatory files and information under Government Code sections 6254(f) and (k) and 6255, and Article I, section 1 of the California Constitution. Santa Clara County Communications is also legally prohibited from disclosing confidential and protected criminal offender record information under Penal Code sections 13300 et seq. CPRA does not require that we make up new reports and at this time is not afforded the resources that would be necessary to carry out this request. Santa Clara County always works toward transparency, however we do not have the resources available at this time to go through thousands of 911 calls for edit. I ask that you be more specific as to what you are requesting so we can look at your request.
