Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

Data on incidents/crimes reported from 1/1/2009 through 12/31/2020. I am part of a public health research team that is seeking this information for research aimed at reducing violence. We already received data from you on incidents/crimes reported from 1/1/2009 through 12/31/2020 and want to extend our analyses into 2021-2023.

Specifically we are looking for data on all incidents that fall under FBI UCR Part I and Part II [https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2011/crime-in-the-u.s.-2011/offense-definitions], including as many of the following fields as possible (based on the FBI UCR data elements shown at [https://www.fbi.gov/file-repository/ucr/ucr-2019-1-nibrs-technical-specification.pdf/view]):

We are requesting this data in a machine-readable format such as Excel spreadsheets or .csv files.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you so much for providing these data! Follow-up question: In the prior data we received from you for 2013-2020, there was a column for both Census block group and Census tract. Do you have this information available for 2021-2023? Furthermore, the 2013-2020 data did not have a column for Weapon Type. Do you have that information prior to 2021? If so, would it be easiest for us to put in a new request inclusive of the years 2013-2023 with weapon type, Census block group, and Census tract? Thank you for any insight you have--if these data are not available I didn't want to waste your time with a formal request.
