Mr. Nash -

I attempted to contact you last Tuesday (7/14) to discuss your request but did not receive a response.

Pursuant to Sec. 2.2-3704 (B) of the Code of Virginia, VFOIA requires requestors to make their requests with "reasonable specificity." As it is currently constituted, I do not believe your request meets this threshold. Therefore I would like to have the opportunity to discuss your request with you so we can get a more precise idea of what you are looking for. That will enable me to come up with an accurate estimate of the time and expense that will be involved in fulfilling your request, as well as apprise you of any exemptions that may apply under VFOIA for the records you seek.

Please feel free to email me at this address, or call my direct office line: (804) 646-3110.

As this is the fifth work day following your request, I must inform you that due to the aforementioned, and the sheer volume of requests received by this office, it is not practically possible to provide the requested records, or to determine whether they are available within the five-day work period. Therefore under Sec. 2.2-3704.B (4), I am exercising the option afforded to public bodies under VFOIA to take an additional seven day work exemption to provide a response.
Best,

Jim Nolan
