Hello,

I received your request to extend the deadline until May 31st, 2024 to return the third party investigative platform purchase and contract records. However this extension seems to be excessive.

Both the Henderson Police Department and Fort Worth Police Department were able to comply with a similar request in a short manner. I wonder if there is any clarification I can provide you to receive the documents in a timely manner, as it appears to be a fairly simple request to fill.

Attached below are responses from two other agencies who were able to fulfill the request rather quickly, I hope these are able to clarify what documents I am looking for.

As a gentle reminder, the Nevada Public Records Act requires agencies to produce records without unreasonable delays (NRS 239.011). Failure to do so violates the law as much as denying a request.

I am more than happy to discuss this over email or over the phone at (775)386-3594 to clear up any confusion regarding my public records request or to narrow the scope if it is truly a voluminous request #PRA-2024-03881.

Sincerely,
Ariel Smith
