The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

Under the Freedom of Information Act, a public body may extend the time to respond to a FOIA request by up to 5 business days for a limited number of reasons. 5 ILCS 140/3(e). We are extending the time to respond to your request by 5 business days for the following reason(s):
Responding to the request requires that we collect a substantial number of specified records
We cannot comply with the request for records within the 5 business day time limit without unduly burdening or interfering with our operations.

Thank you for writing to Village of Niles with your request for information pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140/1 et seq.
On 2/28/24 ], u requested the following documents:
all agency emails (including any attachments) that contain a Flock Safety email address <*@flocksafety.com> sent or received, including CC & BCC fields, between 12/1/2023 and the date this request is processed (inclusive of those dates).
Your request is denied in part, in that the locations of the LPR cameras have been redacted out of any emails in order for the protection of special investigative techniques under Section 7(1)(d)(v) of FOIA. We have also removed any “hotlist: emails sent by flock safety, as they are law enforcement sensitive and exempt under Section 7(1)(a) of FOIA.
You have a right to have the denial of your request reviewed by the Public Access Counselor (PAC) at the Office of the Illinois Attorney General. 5 ILCS 140/9.5(a). You can file your Request for Review with the PAC by writing to:

You also have the right to seek judicial review of your denial by filing a lawsuit
