To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:

It is my understanding that the NYPD maintains detailed records regarding its Paid Detail Unit, as outlined in the NYPD Public Patrol Guide. I am therefore requesting records for each instance of an institution contracting with the Paid Detail Unit, containing the information below:

-The name of the institution hiring NYPD officers through the Paid Detail Unit
-The address of the institution
-The date(s) and times for which officers were hired (e.g. 12/20/2002 18:00-23:45)

The date range for this request is for records starting from the inception of the Paid Detail Unit in 1998 to present.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Lauren Studebaker
