From: Rusty Weiss

Yes, thank you. I am looking for any e-mails sent or received within the Education Department which contain the phrase "undocumented," preferably within the past 12 months. Thank you.

From: FOIL

Dear Mr. Weiss:

Thank you for your follow-up email. Please clarify if your request is for emails which contain the phrase "undocumented," within the past 12 months to or from MaryEllen Elia, or if you meant to expand your request to include any email sent or received within the Education Department which contain the phrase "undocumented," within the past 12 months.

Thank you,

From: Rusty Weiss

I would like to expand my request to include any email sent or received within the Education Department which contain the phrase "undocumented," within the past 12 months.

From: FOIL

Dear Mr. Weiss:

A preliminary estimate on the number of responsive emails to your expanded request is 30,000. SED charges the statutorily permitted fee of $.25 per page for duplication of records requested under FOIL. The cost for producing these records would be at least $7,500. Would you like to refine your search with additional search terms or narrow the search to specific individuals in the Department? If you wish to proceed with the expanded request, we will compile these emails and send you the final amount due.

Thank you,
Records Access Officer
