To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Nevada Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

A log of public records requests submitted to the Department of Environmental Protection that lists the date of request, the requester's name, the requester's organizational affiliation, a description of the request and the date the request was filled. Ideally I would like this information for the period from 2004 to the present.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, and is made in the process of academic research and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Dear Erik,

I’m the Public Records Officer for NDEP. I do keep a log of all requests that I receive, however the state retention on these records is only 3 years. I also don’t log the requester’s organization or the description of the request. I do have this information available that you can obtain copies of at your expense. If you want copies of all of the requests, you will need to set up an account with a copy service to have this done. I can provide you with the information to do that. I have attached an excel sheet of the requests that are received in the main office here in Carson City.

Our Las Vegas office also receives requests and logs them. They don’t keep the paper records but have a link to their office drive for copies. You will not be able to access the links but again if you decide you want copies of the requests they can be copied at your expense. They have logs back to 2011 that we’ll be able to provide for you. I’ll forward these excel sheets to you in a couple of emails.
