Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:

Shapefiles of election precincts in Nassau County for the 2022 gubernatorial Democratic primary

A electronic data file that can be easily read by modern computers, such as a comma-separated values file or Excel document, with the certified precinct-level election results in Nassau County for the 2022 Democratic primary for governor. ASCII files do not meet the requirements of this request.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

As you know, the Freedom of Information Law requires that an agency respond to a request within five business days of receipt of a request. Therefore, I would appreciate a response as soon as possible and look forward to hearing from you shortly. If for any reason any portion of my request is denied, please inform me of the reasons for the denial in writing and provide the name and address of the person or body to whom an appeal should be directed.

New York Freedom of Information Law N.Y. Pub. Off. Law Ch. 47 Art. 6 § 87(b) specifically requires that an agency provide a response to a public records request within 5 business days of receipt of that request.

By failing to respond to this request within the legally-mandated timeframe, this agency is in violation of the law.

Please provide acknowledgement of this request and the responsive materials forthwith. If such materials cannot be produced, please provide an appropriate explanation for this rejection, as is dictated by this agency's legal obligations under the New York Freedom of Information Law. It has been over four months since I asked for the following information:

A electronic data file that can be easily read by modern computers, such as a comma-separated values file or Excel document, with the certified precinct-level election results in Nassau County for the 2022 Democratic primary for governor. ASCII files do not meet the requirements of this request.

Since then I have emailed and even sent physical mail, yet I have still not received a response. New York Freedom of Information Law N.Y. Pub. Off. Law Ch. 47 Art. 6 § 87(b) specifically requires that an agency provide a response to a public records request within 5 business days of receipt of that request. By failing to respond to this request within the legally-mandated timeframe, this agency is in violation of the law.

If this goes on any further, I will forced to appeal this request.
