To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
Please provide records of any and all stop data collected by Marin County Sheriff's Office for transmittal to the Department of Justice in accordance with the Racial and Identity Profiling Act from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022. The records should be provided in an Excel spreadsheet or other delimited text format of electronic documentation that complies with the Interface Specifications of the Department of Justice. Cal. Code of Regs, Art. 5, Sec. 999.228. Where collected, please include responses these two categories recently added by MCSO: “did you know the perceived race prior to the detention” and “was the individual a Marin resident”.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.
