From: Greg Buhl

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the California Public Records Act I am requesting copies of the following records:

-All pursuit, crash, injury, and fatality statistics the CHP maintains on the Long Beach Police Department. If these are available online somewhere, pointing that url out to me would be sufficient. All I can find online is references to CHP maintaining such statistic, but not the the actual data.

“The percentage of crashes is even worse in Long Beach, according to CHP data. It showed 37% of LBPD pursuits ended with collisions from 2016 to 2018. Nobody died in any of those wrecks, but 32 people were hurt, according to the CHP. Most of the people injured were in the car police were chasing, the data showed.”

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter in the time frame set out in the CPRA. This request is being made in the public interest. The information is not being requested for any commercial purpose and will be made freely available to journalists in Long Beach.
