Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act., I hereby request the following records:

1) A list of all website names and/or URLs that are blacklisted/blocked by the district's GoGuardian web-filtering software.

2) A list of all website names and/or URLs that the district has manually whitelisted/allowed access to upon request through the GoGuardian web-filtering software.

I ask that all fees be waived as I am a journalist and intend to use the requested records to publish articles in the public interest. In the event that you choose to impose fees, I request a detailed breakdown of the costs, including the hourly wages of any personnel assigned to process the request and estimates of how many hours the request will take them to process.

Should you choose to deny access to or redact records responsive to this request, I ask that you provide a detailed explanation of your reasoning--as required by law--citing the specific statutes and case law on which each decision is based.

I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) responds to all public records requests in accordance with the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), 5 ILCS 140/1 et seq.
If further time is needed to assemble and copy all documents responsive to your FOIA request, we will contact you with a time estimate and a request to extend.
Upon the completion of a response, CPS will provide the first 50 pages to you at no charge.  If a response is more than 50 pages, a fee of 15¢ per page will be charged for each additional page. We are extending the time to respond to your request by 5 business days for one or more of the following reason(s):
(  ) the requested records are stored in whole or in part at other locations than the office having charge of the requested records;
( )  the request requires the collection of a substantial number of specified records;
( ) the request is couched in categorical terms and requires an extensive search for the records responsive to it;
( ) the requested records have not been located in the course of routine search and additional efforts are being made to locate them;
(  ) the requested records require examination and evaluation by personnel having the necessary competence and discretion to determine if they are exempt from disclosure under Section 7 of this Act or should be revealed only with appropriate deletions;
