Dear J Ader:

Your FOIA request, dated Jul 20, 2022, was received by the National
Archives and Records Administration’s Office of General Counsel on October
6, 2022, via the foia@nara.gov inbox. This request was referred to our
office from the U.S. Secret Service. We assigned your request tracking
number NGC23-007. Please provide this number in any future correspondence
about your case.

You requested the following: The latest copy of the U.S. Secret Service's
Records Retention Schedule. To clarify, the latest iteration of the Secret
Service-specific document which highlights how long each internal document
type is retained.

A cursory search indicates additional need for clarification. If you are
requesting records schedules, which are the foundation for a records
manual, those are available on our web site at
https://www.archives.gov/records-mgmt/rcs/schedules/index.html?dir=/departments/department-of-homeland-security/rg-0087.
If you are requesting a USSS records manual, which is an agency record, we
can further search our records for that. However, if you are requesting
the "latest iteration" of the USSS records retention manual, we would not
know if any copy we might have is the latest iteration.

Please provide us with a response at your earliest convenience, so we may
narrow your request, and speed up the process of gathering responsive
documents.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Ashley A. Bryan
